Review for Shree Holiday Resorts in Alibaug by Mrs. Anu Shankar
"Home - stay" is a word that expresses our stay at Shree Resort perfectly. It was just like home. Within a few minutes of arrival, Samhith decided that he liked them, and disappeared into their home to talk to them and their 15 year old son. For the rest of the two days, he spent most of the time in their house, except when we went to the beach or sightseeing!
Mrs. Raut kept us sated with the wonderful food she prepared - mostly simple but tasty food, typical Maharashtrian cuisine.. The food was the final topping for the home-like atmosphere, which we enjoyed thoroughly.

There are interesting places for sight seeing close by. Famous Temple of Kanakeshwar is only 2 kms from our homestay in Alibaug, going there can be a very interesting trek. Kihim beach (Beach in Alibaug) is just 2 kms away. Thal hill ,which is a nice place to visit and enjoy evening stroll and great breeze, is just 2 kms away.Homely food as we stay at the same place.Mango and coconut trees make our surroundings more natural and hence ecotourist love them; you can not get such surroundings in any resort. The nearby places to visit are Saswane beach, Awas beach and Karmarkar Shilpalaya-Museum.

We shifted to Alibaug from Mumbai in 2002 and since then we enjoyed meeting new people and serving them at our homestay.

| Karmarkar Shipalaya-Museum |
| Art lover or not this place is a must visit. Mr. Vinayak. P. Karmarkar, born on 2ND October 1891, was among the most renowned sculptures of all times. Topper of J. J. School of arts, winner of Lord Meyo Medal and also alumni of Royal Academy; Karmarkar’s sculptures are a pleasure to see.
There are approximately 200 of them in this museum with Hira Kolin and Shankhdhwani being the most noted ones. The sculptures are so beautiful that pictures shown here are not even comparable to the origin....More |
