This real village Homestay owned by Mr Pooranchand Garjola is managed by Jim Corbett Gram Vikas Samiti as part of their Ecotourism initiative.
The objective of this initiative is to give experience of natural surroundings to the travellers while keeping impact on ecology to the lowest. At the same time providing villagers with source of income, so that their dependence on forest products is reduced and wildlife is protected. If you wish to experience nature in the most original form this is the place to be.

- Situated in Chhoti Haldwani village set up by legendary hunter turned conservationist Jim Corbett.
- His home is now converted into museum and is must see for all.
- Homestay is named 'Woodpecker' bird found in this region; which is called Huthutua in Kumaoni language.
- Room is spacious and is part of owner's home.
- Toilets are Indian style and are basic
- Spacious courtyard is available for sitout.
- Hot water would be provided on request
- Home cooked Kumaoni food would be provided.

- Brahm Bamboo Trail - 8 km of trek in dense forest to see wildlife.

Canal Trail : Built in 1860 for cooling Northern India's first Iron
Foundry (Kumaon Iron Works); this canal is an engineering marvel of 8.6
kms. At times it passes over a stream and at times it passes
underground below a stream. Trek around this canal is also an opportunity
to birds and water mills.
- Corbett Fall Trail: Trek of 6.5 km to this waterfall through dense forest is great experience of the jungle.
- Shivering
Tree Trail : This trek to spot Shivering Tree (Gardenia turgida)
through forest is an interesting experience. The leaves of this tree
shiver when you rub your hand on its roots- you need to see to believe
!!!
- Corbett Heritage Trail: See the model village developed
by Jim Corbett; to make humans co-exist in harmony with nature. See the
museum, chaupal, Corbett wall and gun gifted by him to the village.
This trail is part of the stay package.
- For all treks, but for Corbett Heritage trail additional
charges apply for guides. The same can be paid at site after reaching.
- Treks are extremely interesting, informative and enjoyable experience for groups.
