| Review for stay at Sahara Guest House in Kashid by Mr. Peter D'souza:-Dear My Great Stay,
I am writing with a review of our recent experience at Sahara Guest
House (booking reference attached) booked through MyGreatStay.com.
Sahara Guest House is located at Chikni Village about 5km from the main Kashid Beach. The place consists of 3 rooms with double beds and attached toilet / bathrooms. Rooms are functional and toilets are clean,
water was plentiful (very important if you make regular trips to the
beach) and drinking water (collected separately) is not hard/brackish.
Mosquitoes are an irritant either in the room or even if you are
stargazing from the pair of hammocks in the garden. Rooms could do with a few simple essentials like clotheslines and hooks. The hosts are pleasant and accommodating and serve great home cooked food and sol
kadi. Stick to sea-food for lunch and dinner and you can't go wrong. At
our request Mrs Divekar even prepared lightly spiced fish/prawns that our 3-year old enjoyed. Korlai on the way (ahead of Revdanda) has a lighthouse and a clean beach
though almost everyone drives away after visiting the lighthouse. From Sahara Guest House the beach at Kashid is about 500m away and fairly clean. The view is great and a hillock to the south makes for a
picturesque setting. However the downside is a freshwater stream which (probably) brings in silt and sewage. Murud - Janjira is a 30 minute drive further down. Avoid Nandgaon in between...the beach is dreadful. Sahara Guest House is a no-frills homestay, where you get home cooked local cuisine and the hosts try to accommodate your requests...precisely what a great home-stay should be!
Regards,
Peter D'souza
