Review for stay at Visava in Tarkarli, Malvan by Mr. D. M. Raipure : We stayed at Visawa at Tarkarli, Malvan. We enjoyed the tour to Sindhudurg and also Snorkelling there. We had backwater boat ride too. We could spot the payfull dolphins and the scenic beauty of the country side. We enjoyed our holiday and stay. I would surely recommend others to stay at such homestays... I commend your efforts for eco-tourism and the special feelings for mother earth. Thanks for a memorable tour.

Review for stay at Visava in Tarkarli, Malvan by Mr. Prasad Patil :Hi, We really enjoyed our stay in Visava, Tarkarli. The service was really nice. The rooms were clean and the environment around was awesome. The beach was very close and the garden/plantation in the backyard was really good to spend time. Also, the owner helped us to visit the sights around and helped us to get the best deal. The food at Visava was delicious especially Sol-kadhi and Ukadiche Modak. We will definitely would like to visit Tarkarli and Visava again soon. Thanks for such a nice service.

Review for stay at Visava in Tarkarli by Ms. Kamayani Sharma:-I have only nice things to say about Visava Homestay. They made my first holiday alone my most memorable one. From the moment I arrived at Tarkarli, they took the utmost care of me and made sure that I'd have the most pleasant time. Thanks to them and their contacts, I was able to snorkel and go see dolphins and explore Malvan without any hassles. The food is excellent - I had their vegetarian thali - and the family is very hospitable and polite. As a single girl travelling alone, I was obviously expecting to have to be doubly cautious but they put me at ease almost immediately and I felt very safe the whole time. I would highly recommend Visava homestay to anyone hoping to get away for a little while. Clean rooms, cheerful service, a lovely tract of clear blue sea and people to take you to do all the fun activities you want to do nearby. 5 stars.

Malvan:
Malvan is one of the most important towns in the Southern Konkan region of Maharashtra. The importance begins with history of Maratha Empire; wherein Chhatrapati Shivaji built the famous fort of Sindhudurg here. Besides this Malvan is also centre for fisheries and farm products. The city shows glimpse of its cultural heritage in many ways; in the temples around, in the forts around and also in the Malvani theatre.

Nearest Railway station is Kudal, which is also on Mumbai....More

This is among the last of the big forts in the chain almost 65 forts(small and big- ranging from North to South) that Chhatrapati Shivaji built along the coast of Maharashtra. The fort sprawling over 45 acres was built in record time of 3 years (1664 to 1667). This was also the most turbulent time of Shivaji’s life, while construction of fort started on 25th Nov 1664, in May 1666 he was put under house arrest at Agra by Mughal King Auranazeb. In his absence his mot....More

Rameshwar Temple at Aachare

Rameshwar Temple at Aachare: To the north of Malvan, around 20 km is the Rameshwar Temple at Aachare. This ancient temple (more than 600 years) is constructed with wooden pillars and ceiling. The pillars are beautifully decorated and one wonders of the efforts that people would have taken centuries back to create such master pieces. We put this temple as must see for visitors.

Ahead of Aachare is Kunakeshwar Temple (approx 42 km from Malvan) which is worth-seeing. At approximate....More
