Murudeshwar:

Murudeshwar is famous for its temple of Shiva and the beach. As the legend goes, mighty Ravana tried to remove lingam at Gokarna and part of that broke apart and fell here (to read more please see Gokarna as exotic location). However as compared to Gokarna this is much better developed spot with speed boats and water scooters. There are very few, good quality stay options around the beach here; as this place attracts mostly religious crowds who are eager to get darshan and return back as fast as possible.

The beach is great, with waves not very strong, clean water and soft white sands. There is huge gopuram built at the entrance of the temple and a giant statue of Shiva. If you wish to spend 3-4 days in blissful peace and privacy, this is the place.
