Kovalam:

Kovalam is one of the most developed tourist destinations of Kerala; situated at just 16 km from Thiruvananthapuram. Being closer to big city it started drawing tourist traffic very early. There are 3 beaches adjacent to each other; starting from north the first is called Samudra beach. This is beach is 1.5 km away from main town and hence is secluded; it is ideal for people wanting privacy. Hawa beach comes next which is part of the town and has facilities of water sports. Lighthouse beach is to the south most with a shops and restaurants densely lined up along the shore. The shops are open till pretty late and there are many places for traditional Ayurvedic massage as well. It is ideal place for anybody coming to Kerala by Air as first destination to land.
